Tapkeshwar Temple

The Tapkeshwar Temple, also known as the Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple, is located at a distance of 6.5 kilometres from the city centre of Dehradun. A humble cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, this revered temple is situated along the banks of a river which imparts it a unique sanctity. This cave was once the abode of the famous guru Dronacharya and hence is also known as Drona cave.

Robber's Cave

Robber's Cave, locally known as Gucchu Pani, is a river cave formed in the Himalayas, about 8 kilometres from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. This river cave is believed to be an abode of Lord Shiva and is very close to Sahasradhara or 'The Thousandfold Springs' in Uttarakhand. Its speciality is that river water flows out from the middle of the cave.

Mindrolling Monastery

The Mindrolling Monastery, also known as the Buddha Temple Complex, was established in Clement Town, Dehradun, Uttarakhand by Khochhen Rinpoche in 1965. Situated in the middle of the serene foothills of the Himalayas, the Mindrolling Monastery is one of the largest Buddhist centres in India which attracts thousands of visitors from all over the country.

Dehradun Zoo

Located at the base of the Shivalik range, Dehradun Zoo, formerly known as Malsi Deer Park, is a zoological garden. Heaven for nature lovers, the beauty of the place is highlighted by the rich flora and fauna. The park is a great point to unwind and break away from the busy life of the city. It is a small zoological park with a picturesque location and vibrant wildlife, making it an amazing place for photographers.

Shikhar Falls

Shikhar Falls is a waterfall picnic spot located around 13km from Dehradun in Kairwaan village of Raipur. Reaching the waterfall requires a 1 km hike on the rugged terrains. On the way up, you will come across shallow pools with birds chirping in the backdrop, different species of butterflies and wild flora complementing the overall beauty of the area. But do remember to wear comfortable, running shoes.

Sahastradhara Ropeway

Sahastradhara, which literally translates to “Thousand fold spring,” is an extremely popular tourist destination in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The region is famous for its unmatched natural beauty which can be admired via the the Sahastradhara Ropeway. Featuring a ride which is over an hour long, the ropeway takes you to the top of the mountain.

Daat Kali Mandir
